The Bandhan Express is the only international train from Khulna, Bangladesh, to West Bengal, India. This train has two types of coaches, AC chairs and first-class coaches. This train also accepted the half-fare policy for children 5 years of age or younger. However, the travel tax and additional charges may need to be paid.

Bandhan Express Seat Capacity
The Bandhan Express is the cheapest international train between Bangladesh and India. This train has a seating capacity of 456 passengers. The additional information about its seat planning has been shown in the below figure.

How and where do I purchase the ticket for the Dhaka, Bangladesh to India train?
The tickets for Maitree Express are only available at the Kamalapur Railway Station, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The tickets are available 30 days prior to your travel date. However, you won’t be able to purchase the ticket prior to 30 days from your trip date. Also, as the demand for this train is pretty high, you need to purchase the ticket as soon as possible, as there is a high chance of not getting it within a week or less.
For the Mitali Express, you need to buy a ticket from the Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station. These tickets can also be purchased 30 days prior to your trip. They are not available to purchase online.
Also, do not forget to bring your passport and other documents while purchasing tickets.
Luggage, baggage, and other policies
An adult passenger (more than 5 years old) can carry up to two bags with him/her while the total weight cannot exceed 35 kg. For passengers 5 years old or less, the maximum weight of luggage is 20 kg.
If you need to carry more than the maximum limit, then you have to bear some additional charges. A passenger over 5 years old has to pay 2 USD per kg of weight if it exceeds 35 kg. This is applicable to up to 50 kg of weight. However, if your luggage weight exceeds 50kg, you have to pay an additional 10 USD per kg.
The additional pay system for passengers aged 5 years or less is 2 USD per kg if the baggage weight exceeds 20 kg. This is applicable for weights up to 35 kg. And if you have to carry more than 35 kg for a 5-year-old child or less, then you need to pay an extra 10 USD per kg.
Remember, this weight is allowed for only one person. If you are traveling in a group, then you can consider the total allowed free weight for the group. Such as, if you have a total of three bags weighing 65 kg and you are traveling with your mother, then the weight can be distributed between you two, which is less than the total weight allowed for two adult passengers.
